Mike Edwards’s typographic art creates stunning works of art focused around celebrities and musicians and take their own lyrics to create Limited Edition prints. This stunning piece encompasses a portrait of American singer, songwriter and record producer Prince who sadly passed away in 2016. This piece pays a beautiful tribute to the singer in Mike Edwards’s unmissable style. ‘Prince’ is signed and numbered by the artist.

Mike Edwards is one of the pioneers of contemporary Typographic Art – creating his first ‘readable’ visual images from text back in 2004. Mike’s pieces draw inspiration from contemporary media, art history, Pop Art, classical painting and Rock and Roll.
He has created a large number of typographic prints featuring many different celebrities, including Kate Moss, Pete Doherty, Kate Bush, Jay Z, Keith Richards and Marilyn Monroe. His unique style of art makes him recognisable for his work, as he takes a different and unique approach by using musicians lyrics to create the image of the musician themselves. Edwards is a very talented and current artist that we are proud to be representing here at The Contemporary.
